Food for thought from comprehensively designed report

The government commissioned this review in recognition of the fact that the COVID-19 pandemic had highlighted the vulnerabilities of the food system and the importance of ensuring a secure and stable workforce. In August 2022, the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Defra), then Secretary of State, the Rt Hon George Eustice, commissioned John Shropshire OBE to lead this review.
