The Bishop Laney Foundation

Creating the brand foundations for a historic organisation

Founded in 1674, The Bishop Laney Foundation provides grants to help apprentices and students from Ely and Soham with their training and further education. The foundation has given these grants to assist school leavers aged under 25 living in Ely or Soham, for over 340 years.

The trustees of The Bishop Laney Foundation approached us with the task of giving the existing Charity’s brand a refresh, while being sympathetic to the history and heritage of the identity. We started by re-drawing the Bishop’s crest and updating the brand font and colours, carrying these elements through the wider marketing materials. We also designed and built a new website, showcasing all the Foundation offers to students and apprentices, as well as information on the grant application process.

The Bishop Laney Foundation trustees were seeking help with the sympathetic rebranding of their logo, combined with a new website and supporting marketing materials. Over the course of the project, the team remained focused and flexible in coming up with a coordinated package of tools to fit the brief.
